45 Glass from the Past - Thursday, February 14th
Feb 14th, 2008 | By mike | Category: DailyThese bottles were unearthed from a small room under the first floor of the Continental Tavern. The room doesn’t appear to have any door and was most likely accessed through a trap door in the floor. Most of the bottles found are prohibition era and tell an amazing story about the building’s history.
Pat Brennan of PMB Contracting is the lead contractor on the Continental Inn construction project and introduced me to the new Proprietor, Frank Lyons. Frank and Pat were kind enough to give me a tour of the new establishment. While we toured, Frank provided some fantastic stories and insight into the buildings past and his exciting vision of its future.
I’m going to post a gallery of some of the photos later this week as well as sharing with you what I learned while talking with Frank and Pat.
Stay Tuned…

wow, what a find! I’m counting the days until the Continental reopens for dinner. Thanks for sharing these little details!
You bet! I can’t tell you how excited I am about the opening - especially after speaking with Mr. Lyons. He’s got an amazing vision and I’m certain the place will become a wild success.
What a find!!!
