59 Iced Goose and Berry - Thursday, February 28th, 2008
Plump and sweet and out of reach,
I watched this goose pursue
a frozen treat, she’d love to eat
without quite falling through.
Two roads exist to this dessert
both equal in reward.
One requires cunning
the other leaves her bored.
To swim her way through broken ice
and snatch the berry quick
or find the only frozen path
on ice that’s firm and thick.
Today she’ll choose MacGuyver’s way
and test her will to win
treading lightly, dry she’ll stay
without quite falling in.

As I reread this… I’m thinking the “MacGuyver” reference may be a bit of a stretch especially for the younger folk.
For the benefit of my younger readers:
MacGyver is an American adventure television series, produced in the United States and Canada, about the laid-back, extremely resourceful secret agent MacGyver, played by Richard Dean Anderson. The series was created by Lee David Zlotoff and executive produced by Henry Winkler and John Rich. It ran for seven seasons from September 29, 1985, to May 21, 1992, on the ABC network. Film locations included Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada and Southern California. 139 fifty-minute-long episodes were produced, including three with two parts. Additionally, two made-for-television movies were produced in 1994.
