March Retrospective

March Retrospective

March proved to be even more challenging than February. Fortunately, the worst is over and it’s on to Spring, my absolute favorite time of year. I’ve fallen a bit behind on the posts but I’m certain I’ll be caught up by this week’s end.

Here’s quick retrospective video made up of the posts from March, 2008.

91 Common Mergansers - Monday, March 31st, 2008

The Merganser is a large, sleek diving duck with black upperparts and white underparts. Its head and upper neck are green-black with head crest usually not visible. Long, thin bill is bright red. Its wings are black with extensive white patches. The female is gray overall with red-brown, crested head and neck, white chin, dull white upper breast and belly, and orange bill.  The Juvenile resembles female but has more white on chin, a faint white eye-ring, and duller bill.

87 Bicycle Rider on the Canal - Thursday, March 27th, 2008

87 Bicycle Rider on the Canal - Thursday, March 27th, 2008

With the chill now subsiding the birds seem to sing

just a little bit louder as we coast into Spring.

Riders and bikes grow in numbers by day

as do walkers and runners and children at play.

86 Just Hanging Around - Wednesday, March 26th, 2008

86 Just Hanging Around - Wednesday, March 26th, 2008

I found these shoes just hanging around down by the canal. It should be interesting to see how long they remain there… they’re clearly out of reach so it would take a bit of effort to get them down.

Lost Camera

I’ve managed to lose my digital camera - so I’m out of commission for a few days while I get some non-digital shots developed… and/or go buy another camera.

If you’ve got some recent photographs from Yardley that you’d like to send me to fill in for the missing days - I’d love to see them!

Many thanks and Stay tuned…
