82 Firehouse Cycles - Saturday, March 22nd, 2008
March 22, 2008
I stopped by the new bike shop on main street - Firehouse Cycles where I met the owners, Mike and Russ. The shop just opened earlier this month and appears to getting off to a great start. I briefly spoke with Mike Joseph, the shop co-owner and Yardley resident since 1981 about a new stem for my mountain bike. He had a number of great suggestions and options so I agreed to bring my bike in to investigate further.
The shop is well-lit, and has a warm, friendly atmosphere and is fully stocked with a wide selection of Bicycles, accessories and apparel but one of the things I really love about the shop is its tag line: Best Bike Service and Best Bikes. That just about says it all. I think Yardley can use more businesses like this one.
The shop is located at 15 South Main Street and is open Tuesday Through Saturday 10:00am to 6:00pm and 9:00am to 1:00pm on Sunday, closed on Monday. Here’s a link to their web site with more details about their Bikes and Bike Services.
Support our local businesses and stop by and say hello to Mike and Russ and tell them Mike from Yardley365 sent you.
81 Good Dog - Friday, March 21st, 2008
March 21, 2008
According to research presented to the American Heart Association, spending just 12 minutes a day petting and playing with a dog has been shown to significantly reduce the activity and presence of stress hormones, sometimes by as much as 17%. I caught these folks reducing stress in the parking lot of Saint Andrew’s Church while walking home from breakfast.
