I hope you all had a fantastic start to this New Year.

I’ve made a number of changes to the site – not least of which includes a revamped theme. I’m also going to change the way I post to the site. I’ll no longer be numbering the posts and I’ve added a new section called “Reader Submissions”. I’d love for the Yardley residents and the readers of the site to have the ability to share content and photographs with other readers and residents. Here’s a picture from the party we had at our home to ring in 2009. We had about 20 of our closest friends and family over to share the event.

We made some fantastic Stoli-Dolies and I thought you may enjoy the recipe.

INGREDIENTS

• 1 fresh pineapple, cut into pieces
• 1 (750 milliliter) bottle good quality (Stolychnia is what we used) vodka

DIRECTIONS

• Place the pineapple pieces into a large container, and pour the vodka over them. Cover, and refrigerate for 3 to 4 days. Strain out pineapple, and serve vodka over ice with a pineapple garnish.

NOTES

• Avoid the temptation to taste the pineapple that’s been infused with the vodka… it’s just plain horrible. Also, remember to get one extra pineapple to use for garnish.
