And With Fall Comes Spiders!

Summer’s end is accompanied by several tell-tale signs.  Usually around the first week in August you begin to hear the chatter of the cicada and as we near the end of this last full month of summer you’ll begin to notice more and more of these web spinners around.  I begin to notice more webs crossing my path as I leave my house in the morning and as fall gets closer evidence of their increasing presence can be found in bushes, trees and draping the sides of the bridges.  I once tried to explain this phenomenon to one of my friends young sons… I told him that you begin to see more spiders because of the increase in the number of insects hatching… since spiders eat these hatching insects, more insects means that the spiders have to work less to get food so they have more time to concentrate on other things like going to spider night clubs and hooking up with other spiders and ultimately making more spiders.  The accuracy of my theory my well be questionable but I’m sticking to it until someone proves me wrong.
