Yardley's General Store 1966

I met Kaaren from the Lower Makefield Township Historical Commission at the Community Day Festival. Kaaren gave us a great overview of many of the photos on display detailing a bit of the history of some of the remaining landmarks in our area.

“This friendly gathering place is at the corner of Woodside/Edgewood Road and Stony Hill Road. This was Yardley’s General Store and Post Office in 1966, located in Woodside, (Edgewood Village), PA. The supports for the signs for groceries and Abbotts Ice Cream are still attached to the building today. The phone booth has been removed. The house next door is now a veterinary office for small animals.”
