Deer Munching on Patterson Farm

I caught these two deer munching in the field out of the corner of my eye as I passed on my way home from the gym. Fortunately, they were still there when I turned the car around and headed up the drive. I was shocked at how close they let me come. As I sat there watching them, watching me I had to wonder which of us was more curious.

Core Creek Going to the Dogs

A proposed project to build a Dog Park at Core Creek County Park has gained the approval of one third of the Bucks County Commissioners. Debate still rages over the $350,000 estimated pricetage for the project but if Patrick Flanigan gets his way, we’ll see a Dog Park at Core Creek starting later this year.

Hoping to spread the idea of a dog park, Flanigan set up a blog back in 2007. Soon several media outlets including CNN and the Courier Times caught wind and published stories about the proposed park.

The current proposal includes creation of a massive 2-acre fenced-in area for larger dogs and a 0.6-acre area for smaller dogs. The park will be built near the Tollgate Road entrance near Lake Luxembourg.

According to Phillyburbs.com Bucks County Finance Director Brian Hessenthaler said a funding source for the park has not yet been finalized but may incorporate leftover funds from a 2002 bond issue and trash tipping fees.

If you’re interested, you can contact Chris English of Phillyburbs or you can visit Patrick Flanigan’s web site where he talks more about the proposed park.

Also, let us know how you feel by voting in the dog park poll.
